Benoît VIÉ

Benoît Vié is a senior scientist in cloud physics at CNRM. He is in charge of the evaluation and improvement of microphysical schemes. He developped AROME ensemble forecasts to study Heavy Precipitation Events predictability during his PhD at CNRM (2009-2012). After a post-doc at LAERO, he started on his current position at CNRM in 2014. He coordinates the development of ICE3 and LIMA microphysical schemes, through PhD supervision and project management. He gives cloud physics lectures at École Nationale de la Météorologie and University of Toulouse since 2020 and received his Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches in 2025.
